Wildhorse Resort & Casino Golf Course

What’s faster? The greens at the Wildhorse Resort & Casino golf course or the felt on the casino’s blackjack tables? Most layers at Wildhorse’s 7,112 yard course don’t bother to ask or answer that question. They just enjoy the play on links that feature smooth, fast bentgrass greens, manicured tees and lush fairways. This par 72 course is a blend of a Scottish Links and Traditional American Resort golf course that mirrors the panoramic landscape.

Situated at the foothills of the Blue Mountains, Wildhorse is known for its striking vistas—hole #2 will have even the most seasoned resort golfer breaking out his camera for a shot of a spectacularly dramatic background to a testy 337-yard par 4.

In the approach to the green, the course’s signature 18th hole ensures players end their round with a gasp of appreciation for a challenge that includes a lake running along one side of the fairway and white sand bunkers guarding the left-side approach. One of the best finishing holes in golf, this long par 4 calls for an equally long—and straight drive down the middle.

The quality of play must be why the course has hosted several prestigious regional PGA tournaments, including the OPGA Pro-Am and the PNWPGA’s Senior Oregon Open Invitational.

The season is year-round, but for most players begins in March and continues through October, allowing eight months of pleasantly warm days and cool evenings for perfect play on the course.

Many golf groups come to Wildhorse to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere away from the city. They stay at Wildhorse’s Native themed hotel, located next to the golf course. And although they may come to play golf, they also cut loose with the exciting evening entertainment provided by the Wildhorse Casino. The Tamástslikt Cultural Institute, a world-class museum exhibiting the story of the three Tribes who own and operate the resort, is also located here, as is a new conference center, recently remodeled hotel and RV Park.

Many golfers take advantage of golf/hotel packages offered by Wildhorse, including the Birdie Maker’s Golf Special and the Double Eagle. The Resort also offers group packages.

Wildhorse Resort & Casino is located one mile from Exit 216 on I-84, four miles east of Pendleton, Oregon. It is 3-1/2 hours east of Portland or west of Boise by freeway or four hours south of Spokane.
