Wildhorse Resort & Casino Golf Course -- Pendleton, Oregon

By Mike Hegarty / Head Golf Professional

Deep bunkers. Immaculate greens. Stunning views. Small wonder that golfers throughout the Northwest have declared the Wildhorse Resort & Casino Golf Course a stroke of genius.

As a PGA Pro for more than 20 years, I’ve played courses all over the country, but none keeps me on my toes like the course at Wildhorse. Modeled after traditional Scottish-style links, our impeccably maintained championship course features beautiful lakes, rolling hills and tall fescue grass. The course, honored by Golf Digest, offers a variety of play, depending on wind direction and the length you play the course.

With water hazards on more than half of the holes and almost 1500 yards between the front and back tees, the course delivers challenges for players of all abilities. The course has some very stout par 4’s in its repertoire. Hang on with both hands as you play the 6th and 7th holes where each par 4 spans over 460 yards and requires some serious shot-making.

The course is also home to one of the premier finishing holes in Eastern Oregon. Bordered by out-of-bounds and water, the 18th hole is a monster par 4 at 475 yards. If you escape with a par—or better yet, a birdie—make a dash for the casino and cash in on your good luck.

Whether it’s a casual round of golf with friends, a company tournament or charity event, Wildhorse Resort & Casino Golf Course challenges all levels of players. Warm up with a pre-game snack at the Clubhouse Grill and finish at the casino for 19th hole fun. No matter how you play, you’re sure to bag a great time.
