Mallard Creek Golf Course -- Lebanon, Oregon
Mark Tunstill - PGA Head Golf Professional
Within three years of opening Mallard Creek was put to the test by the Pacific Northwest’s best players when we hosted the 2002 PGA Oregon Open. Errant shots end up in wetlands, not backyards, as there are no homes or condominiums to disrupt the view surrounding the course. Set against the foothills of the Cascades, buffer zones of wild grasses, wetlands, and stands of trees between holes create separation and give each hole a feeling of intimacy.
Knowing when to play conservatively and when to take risks should be carefully considered; especially on the par fours. Scoring opportunities start early on both nines with classic risk/reward tee shots that incorporate well protected greens that are reachable from the tee. Our bentgrass fairways provide modest landing areas on most holes. Immaculately groomed, undulating greens have left even the best putters second guessing themselves.
For traveling golfers, our first rate RV Resort offers a short walk to the course and a variety of Stay and Play Packages. Our full service bar features a selection of seasonal Oregon Microbrews and undoubtedly, the best chicken wings in the Western Hemisphere. After your round, join us in front of the fireplace or kick back on the patio and see for yourself why Mallard Creek has become the “friendliest course”. We look forward to serving you!
