Golfing Oregon celebrated its first year in 2007 and what a year it was. We successfully reached more than 350,000 golfers in more than 40 states who were interested in traveling around Oregon and exploring the wealth of courses our great state offers.
The feedback from our readers was overwhelmingly positive: "Thanks for being my trip planner during our visit to Oregon." "We tried several new courses during our trip...love your publication." "What a useful guide to golf in Oregon...will you do one for us in Califonia?" "I put together our entire trip for my six golf buddies to Oregon using only your publication...please send me your 2008 edition because we'll be back."
Due to the positive response to the 2007 edition, we have expanded our distribution and now reach into Phoenix/Scottsdale, San Diego and Los Angeles, with regular monthly distrbution and more than 2,000 pick-up locations in western states. Let's face it: The avid golfer is coming from all over the United States and especially the West Coast to play our great golf courses. As those trips are coming together, visitors are actively seeking out information and make tee times in advance. We, therefore, are seeking out those readers where they live, with distribution and even online access with our new, enhanced Wed site. Readers can now view the entire magazine online (www.golfingor.com) to learn more about certain courses, print pages from the publication or email a PDF of sections or pages to friends and family. Just another example of how Golfing Oregon is adapting to accomodate the changing needs and habits of our readers.
The 2008 edition also features additional pages to accomodate more editorial content, increased participation by courses throughout Oregon and, of course, additional photos throughout the magazine. I would personally like to thank all of our golf courses and advertisers that have chosen to support this magazine, and the Oregon Golf Association for being a partner in creating a first-class guide to golf in Oregon. We are proud to present the 2008 edition and hope that Golfing Oregon will be your compass in creating your next golf vacation to or around Oregon.
